Screen Issues Troubleshooting
Common solutions for display problems with your BuzzTV device.
Black Screen Issues
If there's no light on the device (Power Issue)
- Check connections: Ensure everything is plugged in properly
- Try different outlet: Test with a different power outlet
- Test power cord: Try using a different power cord from a working device
If there's a blue light on the device (HDMI Issue)
The blue light indicates power is on, so this is likely an HDMI connection problem:
- Try different HDMI port: Switch to another HDMI input on your TV
- Replace HDMI cable: Test with a different HDMI cord
- Test different display: Try connecting the BuzzTV box to another TV
Basic Checks
- Ensure the TV is on and plugged in
- Ensure the BuzzTV device is on and plugged in
- Make sure the input is set to the correct HDMI port
White Screen Issues
A white screen typically indicates one of these issues:
No Stock in POS System
- If your store isn't open yet, this may indicate no stock in the POS system
- Once stock is entered, the menus should begin to load
Connectivity Issues
- Ensure your BuzzTV device is connected to Wi-Fi
- Check that your internet connection is stable
Blue Screen Issues
Solid Blue Screen
- Ensure you're connected to the correct HDMI port
- Restart your device by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in
Other Screen Issues
Android Screen with IronMan Background
This indicates a system issue that requires an app update:
- Please update your buzztv or clickspactv app vis the app store to the latest version.
Screen Orientation Issues
If ads are playing in the wrong orientation:
- Click "OK" on your remote to open the Admin Panel
- Click rotate 4 times to cycle through orientations
- Set it to the proper orientation
- Click "delete all files and close app" at the bottom of the Admin Panel
Incorrect Orientation
If the orientation of the screen is incorrect, click the center button on your device remote to bring up the admin panel. From the admin panel you can adjust your screen orientation.
Circular Loading Screen
If your device is stuck on a circular loading screen for over 3-5 minutes, please delete all files and close app and/or unplug and re-plug in your device.
General Troubleshooting Steps
Before contacting support, try these steps:
- Restart the device: Unplug for 30 seconds, then plug back in
- Check all connections: Ensure HDMI and power cables are secure
- Verify input selection: Make sure TV is on correct HDMI input
- Test with different cables: Try different HDMI and power cables if available
- Check Wi-Fi connection: Ensure device is connected to internet
When Creating a Support Ticket
To help us resolve your issue quickly, please include:
- Playlist name (if accessible via Admin Panel)
- Serial number (found on bottom of device)
- Description of what should be displayed
- Steps you've already tried
- Photos or videos of the issue if possible
